Welcome Letter
Dear readers,
First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to offer my most revered respect to my heart, soul and life, my dearest spiritual master Oṁ Viṣṇupāda Paramahaṁsa Parivrājakācārya Aṣṭottara-śata 108 Śrī Śrīmad Gour Govinda Swami Mahārāja.
Further, I would like to offer my most humble obeisance, to that personality without whom most of us would be lost in this material world, the saviour of this entire planet; jagat-guru, His Divine Grace Oṁ Viṣṇupāda Paramahaṁsa Parivrājakācārya Aṣṭottara-śata 108 Śrī Śrīmad A.C Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda.
Finally, I would like to offer my humble obeisance to all the Vaiṣṇava devotees of The Lord, who have so nicely and sincerely followed Śrīla Prabhupāda, and who have inspired and spread the glories of Śrī Kṛṣṇa to millions of fortunate souls across this planet.
Taking this opportunity, may I please request you to accept this humble project, www.iskconpattamundai.in as an offering to our spiritual master Śrī Śrīmad Gour Govinda Swami Mahārāja, and Śrīla Prabhupāda, as a platform for devotees to cultivate their bhakti through the compassionate and loving teachings brought down by the śrī guru-paramparā and their loving devotion towards Śrī Śrī Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa, whose mercy and glories continue to spread across all three universes.
Māyā, the external energy of The Supreme Lord has two energies, the purpose of which is to cover the eternal identity of the living soul. The first energy is known as prakhepātmikā-śakti. This is the power whereby māyā throws the living entity into the ocean of material existence.
The second potency of māyā is known as āvaranātmikā-śakti. This is māyā's potency used to cover the knowledge of the living entity. By the influence of these two energies, the conditioned soul forgets his real identity; that he is the servant of Kṛṣṇa. He is not this body, but is a spirt soul. Instead he thinks, “I am the lord of all that I survey.” For that mentality alone he is suffering through so many species of life and being transferred to various universes.
To help the conditioned soul from that suffering even The Lord personally appeared and instructed the Śrīmad Bhagavad-gītā. Where He mentioned: Just surrender unto Me, only then will you be free from māyā [Bhagavad-gītā 7.14].
But even after hearing, and reading the conditioned soul still has no power to surrender at the Lotus Feet of Kṛṣṇa. Through Śrī Vyāsadeva, The Lord revealed the śāstra so that the conditioned soul can study and understand his constitutional position.
Although Lord Kṛṣṇa is presented in every living entities heart as the Supersoul and reminding the conditioned soul about his condition, but from time immemorial the conditioned soul tends to forget his real identity as kṛṣṇa-dāsa and knows himself as the body and the servant of his senses. He is incapable to understand the promptings of the Supersoul. Sometimes he thinks the prompting of the mind to be the prompting of the Supersoul and sometimes he thinks the prompting of the Supersoul as the prompting of the mind. Thus, he is now in this deep dark well of material existence.
So who can help him in this condition?
By Kṛṣṇa's will and yogamāyā's arrangement- Kṛṣṇa's own men, His intimate associates appear in this world to save the conditioned soul from drowning. They are known as sādhu-guru. They descend here according to the will of Kṛṣṇa. They are our only shelter and protection. That is mentioned in the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam [11.26.32-33]. They are not conditioned souls. And they never were conditioned. They do not belong to the material word. They are appearing and disappearing just as The Lord does [Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta Madhya līlā 8.39].
Therefore all our Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇava Ācāryas are Kṛṣṇa's associates appearing in this material world. Without serving and pleasing them there is no hope for salvation. Therefore Śrī Narottama dāsa Ṭhākura said: chāḍiyā vaiṣṇava-sevā nistāra pāyeche kebā. Let us pray and serve the pure devotee of The Lord.
On this account, we welcome all, and sincerely and humbly request all devotees of The Lord, to constantly pray and serve that pure devotee with unalloyed devotion and take advantage of this endeavor of ours, www.iskconpattamundai.in.
We thank all those partaking in this service and who have made this project launch a success.
Hare Kṛṣṇa,
Your servant and wellwisher,
Haladhara Swami
